The rules for a fair event.

These terms set expectations for using WapGate as a buyer, organiser, promoter, or member of the door crew.

About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and WapGate for using the service. By buying a ticket, running an event, promoting an event, or checking guests in with WapGate, you accept them.

They do not remove rights you have under Nigerian consumer or data-protection law. Where a term conflicts with a right the law gives you, the law wins.

The roles

WapGate connects four groups and gives each the tools they need: buyers who purchase tickets, organisers who create and sell events, promoters who share events for a commission, and the door crew who scan tickets at the venue.

WapGate provides the ticketing and door tools. The organiser runs the event. WapGate does not own the venue, run the show, or guarantee that an event will take place.

Your account and access

Buyers do not need an account; a ticket lives at the link sent to the email used at checkout. Organisers and promoters sign in with a code sent to their email, so keep access to that email secure.

Give information that is accurate, keep your sign-in secure, and do not use someone else's account. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the links you share.

Tickets and entry

A ticket is valid only for the event, ticket type, date, and order it was issued for. Entry is subject to the organiser's published event rules and the venue's safety requirements.

A ticket that has already been used, cancelled, refunded, or issued for another event may be refused. Each ticket admits one person. Do not copy or resell a ticket or its link.

Buying tickets

The organiser sets ticket prices. Any service fee is shown on the checkout screen before you pay, so the total you see is the total you are charged. Payment is handled by Paystack.

Your ticket link is sent to the email you enter at checkout. Some tickets are device-bound and load offline once saved on the phone that opened them; others are online and need an internet connection at the door. Your ticket shows which applies.

If you are an organiser

You are responsible for your event: the details, pricing, venue, schedule, guest experience, and the instructions you give your door crew. Run only lawful events and describe them accurately.

You handle refunds caused by changes to your event, in line with the refund policy you publish. You are responsible for the personal information of your guests that you access through WapGate, and for using it only to run your event.

If you are a promoter

You promote an event either by joining an open event or by accepting an organiser's invitation. You get a referral link, and sales made through it within the tracking window are credited to you at the terms the organiser set for that event.

Promote honestly. Do not spam, mislead people about an event, or claim a connection to WapGate or an organiser that you do not have. Commission is recorded when a sale is attributed to you; payment then follows the event terms and payout processing.

Payments, fees and payouts

Payments are processed by Paystack. Prices, service fees, and any organiser or promoter earnings are shown or agreed before the relevant transaction. A figure shown as recorded earnings is a record, not a confirmation that money has reached a bank account.

Payout timing can depend on Paystack review, bank processing, refunds, chargebacks, and applicable law. Set up and keep your payout details accurate, since most delays come from missing or mismatched account information.

Refunds and cancellations

Refund policies are set by the event organiser. If you need a refund, contact the organiser, or contact us and we will connect you. If an organiser cancels or materially changes an event, refunds are handled according to their policy and the payment provider's process.

Acceptable use

Do not copy, resell, alter, probe, reverse engineer, or overload WapGate, and do not use it to impersonate another person, bypass entry controls, or interfere with another event. Do not upload unlawful content or use the service to defraud buyers or organisers.

We may suspend or remove access to protect buyers, organisers, venues, or the service.

Content and ownership

WapGate owns the platform, its software, and its brand. Organisers keep ownership of the event content they upload and grant WapGate the limited permission needed to display and sell that event. You may use WapGate only as these terms allow.

Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep WapGate available and to make offline entry reliable, but the service is provided as is. Offline ticket features depend on your device and on saving the ticket before you travel. We do not guarantee that any event will take place or meet your expectations, since that is in the organiser's hands.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, WapGate is not responsible for the running of an event, the acts of an organiser, promoter, or venue, or losses outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access to WapGate if these terms are broken, if it is needed to protect users or the service, or if the law requires it. You can stop using WapGate at any time; terms that should survive, such as those on payments already made and acceptable use, continue to apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the Nigerian courts, without removing any mandatory protection the law gives you.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service or the law changes, and we update this page when we do. Continuing to use WapGate after a change means the updated terms apply.

Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected] or WhatsApp +234 813 886 0045. WapGate is based in Awka, Anambra, Nigeria.
